David Adolph Constant Artz - Interior of the Katwijk Orphanage [c.1870-80]


David Adolph Constant Artz (1837 - 1890) was a 19th century Dutch painter and collector who associated with some members of the Hague School. Between 1866 and 1874 Artz stayed in Paris where he set up his own studio at the suggestion of Courbet. In 1874 he returned to The Hague where he eventually died.
